Why Students Don't Go to University? - The impact our own problem

In Cambodia is the country that have a lot of students, but it is not enough for the students can’t afford to have the chance to learn and graduate the university. There are many reasons like the poverty is the main issue for the barrier that they can’t go through the university. Moreover, they have to spend the money to their family to support their family and the member. Also, they cost the school fee and other material of the school like books, the school uniforms and the great distance for the choice. As we know for our researching that Children go to school for half a day, either mornings or afternoons, and a credible 80%+ of children enroll for primary school.  Costs of school uniforms, books and other materials, the need to travel greater distances, and unofficial fees, mean that only 25% start lower secondary school and just 9% start upper secondary school; (these are the averages for both sexes – the situation is far worse in rural areas and for girls).  Teachers’ salaries are only $30 to $50 per month and they cannot survive on this so are forced to charge unofficial attendance fees, or fees for extra tuition, or for examination results etc.  Such fees are beyond the means of the poorest families, and as children get older they are needed to work at home, so the problem is doubly difficult. Following the activity in the society, they are not enough the kid to continue in the university because they have to think about the family and what extent of paying for learning in order to have afford to learn in the university. Moreover, they want to get the chance in the local area, so that they have the time to work order to support the family and can share the knowledge to next generation. And some students think about the condition of the family live the elder of the parents and the state the brother or sister are nor very enough to make a living. Also, they have to help the parents and the members for supporting the money too. And the interplay between these elements provides a framework for facilitating an understanding of the factors that indicate whether students experiencing poverty will survive, thrive or fail at university, and how the student’s and institution’s responses may facilitate more successful outcomes.  This model provides a way that a student and institution can undertake an analysis of a new and more comprehensive set of poverty (or success) indicators. It also shows how they subsequently jointly or alone can develop strategies as part of a more effective response to the student’s poverty or other impediments to success and well-being.

Moreover they have the chance to support the kid to pay the place they give them to learn. Like As a country still recovering from continuous wars that destroyed almost everything, there is still a long way that it can become a fully developed country. Consequently, many issues are expected, and the most important of all is corruption. This is not just a small problem that happens only in some minor parts of the government or at a few places; the corruption in Cambodia is happening everywhere, from the top elites to the small kids who have just enrolled for a few years in primary school. In fact, corruption occurs so frequently that it almost becomes a culture trend for Khmer people, imprinting a deep impression in their brains and to the later generations as well. Apart from being a country full of corruption, Cambodia is also a very poor country. According to the statistic, 80% of the population live on less than US$2 a day, and a teacher’s average salary is only US$30 per month, and not all of Cambodian teachers live on their own; most of them have families to support, kids to feed, and the monthly bills of electricity and water to pay, and with the inflation happening frequently in the country, being a teacher is not adequate. Therefore, most of them have to find jobs elsewhere such as making their own businesses, opening extra-time classes and so on. While extra-time classes are
only promising for science and Khmer literature teachers, teachers who teach social subjects are not very likely to have a chance. Consequently, in class, they have to directly violate the rule and sell papers, either lesson papers or test papers, to their students. In fact, they can disobey the law openly and easily that the law seems to be only for show; in other words, it’s called, ‘Enacted law without implementation. Also, in the city they need to spend the money a lot especially on the school fee and they have buy a lot document in the school that can go through the exam.

Another one, the school need the capacity of learn and they can’t adapt the teachers and the view of lean, so they try to stop learning without thinking like we have learn about the form of living in the city but they show that one person they have enough money to support the learn, but in fact they do not the benefit of learning in the university. And, that person try to perform the role of study it is very bad in the school and they don’t have a good result in the school and he do his best. After that, he tries to drop out of the school in the middle of learning. In fact we see the result, Furthermore, even a matter such as producing textbooks for students to learn is still an unsolved and neglected problem. As we can see, textbooks issued by the Ministry of Education are never adequate for every student. It is clearly stated that the textbooks are banned by the government of any sales and republishing and are freely provided to every student. Yet, those textbooks can be seen on sale in every bookstore in the country, and yet students who are trying to get better education do not have even a textbook to read. Nowadays, a textbook is shared by two students or even more in a class, and some have to study without textbooks for a whole year or even more. Also, the textbooks can’t be updated regularly to the recognized standard, so the lessons are old and all Cambodian students have to learn these outdated lessons. That’s why graduated students from high school are not internationally acknowledged, and that is why our human resources fall far behind those in the powerful countries. Moreover, they need spend the time to learn in the class, but they think that it is very difficult of learn in the school. Also, if they have the problem with the exercise their homework they want to stop to learn because they do not to ask the teacher in the class especially not to ask the student achiever too. After, a mount of homework in the class that more than they do. And, they are really boring to do it, so they decide to postpone the school. Although, the result of homework that not enough and compare with his learn. We have ask the reason to the student, but they answer that they don’t to learn in the high class because they found a lot issue in the university live they are hard to find the document and they try to get, moreover they want to find the solution, but in fact they cannot and they are really difficult to ask another friend in the school. Nevertheless, they took the problem to teacher in order to find a good answer, yet they still not understand the meaning or their topic. An institution might provide additional financial support as a response to a student’s unsustainable level of financial or material resources. The student might agree to undertake additional activity to strengthen their personal, social or cultural support base as part of the agreement to provide additional financial support. This would apply when it is agreed between the student and a ‘poverty adviser’ in the institution that such activity would contribute to improvements in the student’s chances of academic success, and when such a measure is supported by evidence of the effectiveness of the intervention.

Furthermore, the health that they are away their hometown that is the main problem. For example, a mount in small town in the countryside of the province they are very happy to pass the high school e exam and they decide to continue to study in the city that are away from their home, so they does not adapt the play of living and they can forget the activity living in the town, moreover they live in ugly place that can be used to stay before. The place that give them fall a sick immediately and they can’t treat easily, however, that cause was sent them to their home. And they have to drop out of the school in the way of learning. Also, the lack of the health that cause them to stay in the home for a long time that effect relate to the family do not follow them to continue to studies anymore for the main reason that they are worried about the health of his or her son. Moreover, they do not adapt the place they in the city such as the weather, environment, so they decide to drop too. Another reason that, parents think that his or her children do not have a good health when they are away from home and they force to children to drop the school. Moreover, the town to continue of learning in the university have no in the location, so that they want to a good meaning they decide his or her children not to learn in the university. Like we have learnt in the research as a provincial capital, Siem Reap has a government hospital offering a fairly comprehensive range of services to those who can pay – there is very little state funded provision.  In addition, nursing and post treatment facilities are very limited, and patients are not provided with meals whilst in hospital.  As a result, a member of the patient’s family also has to stay at the hospital to feed and generally take care of them.  Many people are effectively excluded from healthcare due to lack of money, or being too distant from Siem Reap town. Moreover, as we get the interview in the town that is very far from the city, so that do not have anything for learn. And amount of students do not continue their learn in the university because they claim that they do not want to study in the university because they are not very strong physical of learning they are often sick and they cannot adapt the place when they feedback from the city, however, they often spend money a lot when they are outside the house, so that is the main problem for them to get through. Exactly, we have to know that the enough money to support to learn in the university, but in fact, they cannot live in the city because they cannot adapt the water and the life in the city.
In addition, the growing numbers of university teachers have expressed concern that students are becoming disengaged from their university experience because of time commitments in non-academic activities. More students are engaged in paid employment and the increasing proportion of mature-age students seem be likely to have family commitments. Moreover, they are worried about time of learning and it is very long to get the job and it concerns the number of university and the more are not specific to do their job, and they can trust the educational system in the country, so that they decide to stop and the cause of money. It seem to know about the most people in Kampong Cham, we have known that small amount of undergraduate from the high school they do not want to continue because there are many universities in the city and they about the value of the education system like curriculum, structure, and valuation of learn. That is especially for the teachers too and do not want to compare it to another countries in the world. Also, they claim that teachers does not have capacity of teaching and they does not the method of teaching such as giving the lesson to the student and they care the universities have formed a lot so that they don’t have responsibilities to the students.

Another main idea, we have focused about the similar jobs when they start to live in a new place, they think their jobs is very proper for living they can earn easily in our life, so they don’t want to continue to studies anymore. Also, they have trained their good position in the work place such as a well-paid job, high position, etc. The most important they have easy life, even though they have graduate the university it is still the same of that condition. Moreover, they must spend long in learning and waste the time, and they don’t want think about learn out of their work that have many come to them. Such as we have look over some student local area in Siem Reap, they have finished the high school test, after have certificate they try to find the job to make a life and they can help the family at the town, moreover they can live easily. That reason in which not to learn, and it is the barrier of learning in the social worker. And they try to save the capital that they do the business or they can do the small seller in their life.
